VDB Ministries is helping those in need !

     There are many homeless, hungry and needy people in our areas that are being helped through VDB ministries. Looking around this country we are seeing more and more of those that are going hungry because they have lost their jos, houses and life savings. Our elderly are seeing the rise of medications and have to decide if they will get the prescriptions they need and go hungry, or do without their meds. Many children as well as their parents leave their homes with old and tattered clothing because there is not enouh money to buy the clothing they need. As the housing crisis continues to spiral out of control many are becoming homeless. Without a place to call home they cannot get jobs or other essential needs met, so they live lives without hope. Others in our communities are living in sub-standard housing because they lack the income to fix up their homes. Many youth today are wondering what is  ahead for them. Without any hope for tomarrow the youth are finding security in gangs, living lives of drugs and crime.

VDB ministries is standing in the gap as Jesus  called His church to do. We have set up an Angel Food Ministry supplying food at low costs for those that cannot afford the high cost of food at the gropcery store. We are suppling food to those who cannot afford to buy anything but the bare neccessities, by taking donations and purchasing food and giving it to those in crisis. We have a clothing outlet that gives clean decent clothing, blankets and linens to those in need. We are currently working on creating space to give temporary shelter to those that are homless, and helping them to find work and shelter in the surrounding areas of Harman, WV.  

We realize that our youth are our only chance that tomarrow will be a better place and if we allow them to pass before us and not give them the hope of a brighter future we will all suffer the consequences. Our youth department is stratigically setting up Christian youth events that will show our youth the benefits of living a life in the example of Jesus. Our youth need the emotional ties of the unity of family and this we offer to them as Jesus offered it to us. Our youth feel powerless to make any impact on the problems they face, so we are opening doors so that they can become invovled in their communities helping those in need and changing lives through the gospel of Jesus Christ. When Jesus did any miracle He would first touch them in a physical way, then He would give them the spiritual blessing that they really needed.  As our youth see this example in action they will see that they can control what happens to them through ministering to the people in the communities around them both physically and spiritually.
